1. Intellectual Property and Copyright
1.1 All content is copyright of Energeia-UK Ltd and Dr Richard Diston. Do not steal content from the site, either from Energeia-UK or from other members (in the community areas). Do not repeat and attempt to take credit for anything you see here, whether in concept, content or style. Guidance is provided on how to reference the content and ideas presented here. Failure to respect copyright and IP will result in action under clause 6.1D. Memberships provide access, not ownership. Under no circumstances and at no time should ANY content from this site be uploaded into an AI or LLM system.
2. Refunds
2.1 Refunds are available within UK law for goods and services that are faulty, damaged or misdescribed. Refunds for online content are available within 14 days of purchase, provided the content has not been logged onto, downloaded or otherwise accessed. Refunds and credits for any other reason are at the discretion of Energeia-UK Ltd.
3. Online courses
3.1 Online courses that are sold as individual programmes have 90-day access from the date of purchase. Extensions for a further 90 days of access are available for purchase at 25% of the original price paid. This is to be requested by email. Access will be restored after payment.
3.2 Access to online content must not be shared and is not transferable. Streamed content may not be downloaded, screen captured, or otherwise retained (excluding that which is specifically provided for download), and all Intellectual Property and Copyright laws must be observed as per 1.1
3.3 12-month online programmes where the content is drip-fed each month have a set duration of 12 months. This means that the access time per module is reduced as the content is released, down to 30 days for the final month of content.
3.4 10-week programmes will make no allowance for missed sessions. If there is a weekly call component, delegates are encouraged to attend all weeks.
4. Coaching services
4.1 All coaching calls are confidential. They are not to be recorded, and will not be subject to any AI transcribing service.
4.2 Coaching calls that are degraded or disrupted by technical issues can be rescheduled at no additional cost.
Intro coaching call
4.3 The intro coaching call is provided with a zero-risk refund policy if it is not insightful or useful. To qualify, the request must be made before the call ends. Intro coaching calls are a one-per-person offer and are not to be used for any other coaching purpose.
Single and Bundled calls
4.4 Coaching calls (other than the Intro call) must be used within 6 months of purchase. Unused calls will expire, and can only be carried over at the discretion of Energeia-UK Ltd.
4.5 All call purchases are refundable within 14 days, provided they have not been used. Calls are non-transferable.
Corporate coaching
4.6 Where coaching is provided at the expense of an employer or other third party, the coachee is considered the client. All conversations will remain confidential, and no reports will be provided on their progress to their sponsor. The coaching services will not be transferable or refundable in the event that the coachee leaves the company.
5. Community memberships
5.1 Energeia offers a community membership for security and risk practitioners, under the banner of Warden Leader. Memberships include access to the community area (The Lantern Room) and premium content not available anywhere else. Other benefits may be available and are applicable at the time of enrolment.
5.2 Members are responsible for ensuring they keep their contact details up-to-date. Members should not use work email addresses.
5.3 Warden Leader is a set duration, 12-month subscription, with elements of drip-fed content. Because it is of a set duration, it will not be rebilled after 12 months. We will be in touch the month before expiry to discuss renewal for another 12-month period.
5.4 All Energeia Memberships have three payment options -
Option 1 is a monthly subscription for 12 months.
Option 2 is split pay over 3 months (saving one month of access fees).
Option 3 is payment in full (saving two months of usual access fees under Option 1).
5.5 Memberships only contain the content related to them and do not stack.
Pricing
5.6 Prices are held from the moment of purchase for all subscription services, and will be protected from non-essential price rises for their duration. Price increases related to taxation requirements will still apply.
Member Responsibilities
5.7 Membership to any Energeia community is a privilege. The rules of the community are set out below and are repeated in the welcome topic areas. They are to be strictly observed as they will be strictly enforced. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner, take personal accountability, contribute and keep an open mind.
Account Code of Conduct
5.8 Members are responsible for maintaining their accounts in good standing. This specifically relates to meeting the payments on the Option 1 and 2 subscription agreements, in full and on time, as well as adhering to the code of conduct clauses.
5.9 Account access credentials are non-transferable and should not be shared.
5.10 The protection of account access credentials is the sole responsibility of the member, as is anything that results from their misuse.
5.11 Think for yourself, but be teachable. Respect knowledge, value insight, and be grateful that people who did the work to earn it are sharing it with you. Be curious. Ask questions. Be honest in your answers. If you cannot be challenged, you cannot learn.
5.12 No virtue signalling on any topic, for any reason. Do not discuss religion in any way or aspect. Politics may be discussed, but only in relation to the politics and policies of protection and regulation.
5.13 No ‘culture war’ nonsense, either. Nobody cares about your race, sexuality, gender or general politics. We care about the quality of your character and thinking. Focus on those. Keep your personal business personal.
Member Conduct
5.14 Respect our IP and that of the other members. Do not take concepts, content or style to other platforms and pass it off as your own. This will result in a permanent lifetime ban without refund or appeal and potential legal action. See Clause 1.
5.15 Do not seek to offend, do not seek to be offended. Attack ideas and organisational behaviours, not individuals. Inferior behaviour will have consequences. Think before posting. If in doubt, don’t. Do not confuse ‘banter’ with disrespect.
5.16 Members are encouraged to actively engage with the content and community. Members get out what they put in. Ask questions, share experiences, discuss possible answers.
5.17 No spamming or advertising. Unless you are me. Members are welcome to post job opportunities to either of General Discussion community topic area, visible to all members.
5.18 Be thoughtful in your content. Keep the memes to a minimum; we aren’t children. If your only contribution to a conversation is a meme, you need to try harder.
5.19 Absolutely NO AI-created content is to be posted in community spaces. This is an ethical violation and an intellectual one. Members who do this will be banned for life, without appeal or refund.
5.20 This is NOT a ‘cyber / IT’ community space. We are here to talk about security and risk management careers, not how to do IT work.
6. Cancellation
Cancellation of a community membership can happen in one of four ways.
6.1a Cancellation by expiry. If a membership is time-limited and is not renewed, access will end on the renewal date.
6.1b Cancellation request sent directly by the member via email. Community members who request cancellation will immediately lose access to their content, regardless of where they are in the billing cycle.
6.1c Cancellation due to failed payment. Where subscription payments fail, access will be immediately suspended, and the member has 7 days to bring their account back into order. After 7 days, the cancellation becomes final. Where annual subscriptions are taken, these need to be renewed at least 7 days before they expire to avoid loss of access.
6.1d Cancellation due to breach of the code of conduct. This may result in a permanent lifetime ban for all premium Energeia / Warden Leader content if related to clauses 1,2,4,5,6,7,9 or 11 and possible legal action. There is no appeal process or refunds for cancellations under these clauses. In some situations, members may receive ONE warning about their community conduct within a 12-month period.
6.2 With Payment Options 1 and 2, if a Member seeks to cancel any programme within the first 12 months before all the payments are made, the remaining balance of the membership will immediately become due. The repayment options are provided as a courtesy and do not alter the financial commitment for the full 12-month duration of the Membership.
6.3 Cancellations under clauses 6.1b or c will trigger a 12-month waiting period before the member will be considered to rejoin any level of membership. This is to protect the content and prevent ‘gaming’ of the memberships.
7. Events
‘Events’ refers to live events (in-person) or online events (virtual).
7.1 Live events will require a 50% deposit if booked more than three months in advance. This deposit is non-refundable unless Energeia-UK Ltd cancels, significantly changes or reschedules the event. If you change your mind or can no longer attend, you have no automatic right to a refund, either of the deposit or the full fee. Where cancellation occurs before the full fee is paid, Energeia-UK Ltd may waive the remaining balance at our discretion.
7.2 Bookings for live events are not transferable and apply only to the first-named attendee.
7.3 If bookings are made within 3 months of the event date, the full ticket price is due at the time of booking.
7.4 Attendees who disrupt events (live or online) will be removed from the event space without refund. Future bookings may be refused or cancelled.
8. Affiliates
8.1 The affiliate programme is available only for members in good standing of the following programmes:
Core Courage
Successful Sage
Warden Leader (either level)
Members who complete the programmes may be invited to remain in the affiliate programme at the discretion of Energeia-UK Ltd.
8.2 Affiliates may only recommend products and services that they have personally experienced. This is to retain the integrity of the business and the affiliate programme. Access to the affiliate programme is available after three months of the Membership have elapsed to ensure recommendations are valid.
8.3 Affiliates must complete the enrolment process on Thrivecart fully, as well as the enrolment form sent by Energeia-UK Ltd. Until the full enrolment process is completed, the affiliate is not active.
8.4 Affiliate rates are only available on the following products (subject to 8.2) and are set as follows. Changes will be made in advance by email.
Warden Leader: £30 / £60 per referral (depending on the membership level purchased)
Core Courage:£30 per referral
Kinesis:£50 per referral
Successful Sage:£150 per referral
These affiliate rates are exclusive of VAT.
8.5 Purchases of any other product or service are not part of the affiliate programme.
8.6 Affiliate links are tracked for 14 days. If a referral purchases the specific referred product after that time, the referral fee is not applied.
8.7 Payments are made directly by bank transfer no earlier than 90 days after qualifying referral transactions. After 90 days, we will inform affiliates of the amount due to them, and we will provide them with a statement. Affiliates who are a business / sole trader must then provide us with an invoice. Any delay in providing an invoice will delay payment.
8.8 Where the affiliate is a VAT-registered business, they must add VAT to their commission payment on the invoice.
8.9 Affiliates who change their status (sole trader / business or self-employed) must inform Energeia-UK Ltd immediately.
8.10 Affiliates agree that they are responsible for their own tax affairs in whatever jurisdictions are relevant.
